NACOMI - AFFORDABLE NATURAL SKINCARE AT THE STRAIGHT FROM NATURE

When I was first contacted by The Straight From Nature, I didn't know much about Nacomi, affordable all natural skincare brand from Poland. I tend to only test brands available here in UK, apart from an occasional American haul. The Straight From Nature is an authorised distributor of the brand here in UK and I for one, am super happy to be able to test some new and affordable natural skincare.  I have been trying to introduce as much natural skincare into my routine as possible, so I said yes to a collaboration with the shop to introduce this new brand to you.

The Straight From Nature new online store is now open and you will find the whole range of skincare, haircare and body care from Nacomi. There's also a range for children, for those ecologically cautious parents, who'd like to only use natural products for their kids.

The shop is offering 10% off your first order if you sign up to the newsletter and for an additional 15% off just quote NATURAL on checkout. That's a massive 25% off your order & free delivery on orders over £20.00!

I was offered to choose 5 products for review and I must admit to choosing mainly the skincare. I am super lazy when it comes to body care and I rarely use any. My body lotion needs are covered by Vaseline Body Lotion Spray and Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion. Yes, I am this lazy :) However due to one product being unavailable at the time of order, the lovely Monika (store co-owner) asked if she could exchange it for something else. I gave her a free rein and I was sent Nacomi Rasberry Nourishing Body Mousse* (RPR £7.50 - currently on offer £6.99). This enriched with Inca Inchi and Avocado Oils mousse glides on the skin, providing it with the level of hydration unknown to me before. And have I mentioned the scent? The formula with apple extract and raspberry scent makes anything you've ever bought at Body Shop just not up the standard. I honestly couldn't believe something with 100% natural ingredients can smell so delicious. You only need a little and the mousse transfers into a body oil when you lather it on. I have quite dry skin all over and only need to use it couple of times a week as it's that nourishing. It sinks in within few minutes too. If only they made this in spray :)

If you've been following me for a while, you'll know I'm obsessed with cleansing. Double cleanse is a must and sometimes, who am I kidding, every day it turns in to a 20 minutes ritual. Nacomi Black Soap (£4.99 for 100ml) has the most unique consistency of all cleansing balms I've used. It's that dirty dark green goo that turns practically clear when lathered onto the face. Black Soap or in French Savon Noir is a traditional Moroccan soap made from black olives and olive oil. It's a mixture of water, glycerin and potassium hydroxide which is heated for a length of time and then combined with black olives mixed in olive oil. I took a HD picture for you as it's hard to describe how it looks. You take small amount and lather in between your fingers and apply to the face. There's no need to over use it. Small amount is all you need! You supposed to leave it on the face for around 10 mins as it has exfoliating properties. It's similar to an enzyme peel (hallelujah to sensitive skin types) as it removes dead skin cells as well as having anti-aging properties. Remove it with water and believe me it gets super foamy. You would have never guessed it based on its consistency. It deeply cleanses but also moisturises without leaving an oily film on the skin, perfect for those combination and oily types too. I wouldn't use it every day, if you're super dry, as it can have a drying effect. It works great as a pre-treatment cleanse. I use it before a face mask or chemical peel. It's perfect at truly leaving your skin cleansed and ready for other treatments. It almost makes any type of treatment works better. It's a definite favourite of mine :)

I wouldn't be myself, if I didn't order a couple of face masks. I opted for capillaries skin friendly masks with anti-ageing properties. I have some visible capillaries on the bottom of my cheeks so decided to opt for masks made especially with that in mind. I wanted to try Nacomi Cranberry Algae Mask* (RPR £5.99 for 100ml) as it has strong anti-ageing properties and it's made with mature skin in mind. Yes, I may not qualify just yet, but the mask promised an effect of awoken complexion and I'm all over that :) Cranberry extract helps to smooth out existing fine lines and wrinkles and helps improving skin's natural production of collagen. The highly concentrated vit C helps with oxygenating blood vessels and slowing down the effects of aging. Marine algae helps with cleansing and regeneration of tired skin. I was surprised at masks formula as it comes in a powder form and you need to mix it with water in order to produce a thick paste consistency. Apply evenly onto the face making sure it's applied quite thick onto the whole face. I'd use around 1/4 of the tub as you'll need a really thick mask. There's a reason for it and as I applied it first, I didn't quite understand the reasoning behind such thick application. The mask becomes solid around 5 mins after application. It is recommended to leave it on for 20 mins. I thought the reason is to get the mask to fully dry... I couldn't be more wrong lol. The way to remove the mask is to peel it off, if it's applied not thick enough it will completely dry making it a B***h to remove, believe me! I can laugh now, but I've lost some of the baby hair on my face lol. However if applied correctly the mask becomes of a gum like consistency and peeling off isn't a problem. I can honestly recommend it if you're looking for a wow result as an hour after the application my skin felt nourished, smooth and oh so soft. It does brighten the complexion and it's fine even on sensitive skin (given you won't make my mistakes that is!)
I also ordered a Nacomi Red Clay Brightening Mask* (£4.99 for 100ml). This is 100% red clay powder produced in France. It is recommended to mix it with water or natural oil. Red clay is designed for capillaries skin but also those prone to pimples. I have had an unusual amounts of acne like pimples across my chin mainly, so I have been battling them by multi-masking. I don't plan on using this mask all over my face, only on areas where I need an extra cleansing which is also delicate enough for my skin. It's the only product I haven't tried yet, but I plan on a new multi-masking post so I'll share with you my findings then.

Lastly Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil* (£5.84 for 30ml) is 100% pure cold pressed virgin oil. Sea Bucktorn seeds contain carotenoids & fatty acids (Omega 7) which are responsible for skin regeneration and have anti-ageing properties. This little gem of an oil is such a multi-tasker. You can use it as a facial oil as it not only smoothes the wrinkles but also evens out the skin tone and gives it a golden hue. If you are on a lookout for a natural 'tanning' oil, look no further. It's a little too tanning for me so I only use a teensy bit with my other oils but my mom absolutely loves it. In true form, if used overnight you will wake up to a slightly (only little I promise) golden complexion. It will work on any skin tone, however if you proud yourself on being as pale as a ghost, you may want to avoid as you'd need to use it all over your neck and decollate to ensure you won't just tan your face. What I love about this oil is his extreme moisturising properties. Only tiny drop added to your usual skincare will make it in to an overnight facial. I woke up with such rested and soft complexion after the first use, I was amazed by it.

As I type this, I have already made a wishlist of all the skincare I still want to try at The Straight From Nature online shop. Don't forget tabout the discount code (quote NATURAL on checkout for an extra 15% off your shopping now)!
