GET AUTUMN READY #1: SKINCARE UPDATE

Autumn skincare update

Autumn has truly come and I can’t be the only one in the winter coat today, right? Cold winds and central heating can have a terrible impact on the condition of our skin. For me, it’s a constant battle with dehydration. Thankfully a great skincare is at our fingertips and you’re only a few clicks and couple of ‘buy now’s’ away from updating your routine to truly care for your skin through the colder times.

Did you know that dehydration is the main reason you could be battling redness more now that any other time of year? It’s important to hydrate like crazy in autumn. I picked up a trick. I use Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist in between all my skincare steps. I spritz my skin up to 6 times over, almost sealing every single step in and helping skin to retain the hydration. I choose it for its calming properties too. The mist is super fine and feels incredibly calming on my skin, especially on my super dry/dehydrated days. It’s probably the most miraculous face mist, I’ve tried so far and I can see myself repurchasing it over and over again. Pricey, but worth every penny.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist soothes and fights dehydration

Dehydration sadly means dullness for me and this year I’m saying no to that. I want my skin to truly glow and not only after a ton of foundation and highlighter. Pixi Glow Mud Mask does the cleansing and exfoliating for me in one, well rounded 15-minute facial. Deep cleansing mud enriched with 5% Glycolic Acid exfoliates and brightens gently but effectively, whilst Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera and Avocado Oil help nourish, condition, moisturise and repair. A quarter of an hour is all I need to reveal a brighter complexion. Pores aren’t as visible and problematic areas become less of a problem. I’m all for this!

What do you think of when I say ‘post-summer skin’? I’m fighting slight hyperpigmentation and texture with The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%. This anti-ageing brightening gem helps fight dark spots, hyperpigmentation and give my skin a much-needed glow. I use it every other day as a pre-serum treatment at night allowing the product to work for a min of 15 minutes before applying the next step. Slightly oily formula sinks in quickly and works almost instantly. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a potent antioxidant, which not only fights visible signs of ageing but helps improve texture too. If uneven skin tone is your biggest dread, give it a go, I dare you. It’ll make your skin super sensitive to the sun too, so SPF is a must!

Say no to dry skin and dullness with Indeed Labs & Pixi

My personal dry skin saviour is Indeed Labs 10balm Soothing Cream is a dream come through. With dehydration comes redness and sensitivity and this cream tackles it all. I prefer light balmy textures in colder months and I’ve been using this moisturiser both morning and night with great results. This intensive healing cream enriched with 10 nature’s powerful calming ingredients, repairs, provides comfort, soothes, supports natural healing and cell renewal as well as hydrates and nourishes the skin. It’s all-rounder for me. At night, it allows my skin to heal from all that I put it through: A/C at work, central heating at home and environmental factors such as cold winds and pollution. It’s the best thing I’ve tried in a long while and I highly recommend it to anyone with super sensitive, dry and dehydrated skin.

Vitamin C is a must these days. Since introducing this powerful antioxidant to my routine, I’ve never looked back. It’s a natures version of SPF as it helps protects the skin from environmental factors. It helps improve cell renewal and collagen production. It brightens too, so if it’s glow you’re after, look no further. Here combined with Jojoba Oil, Tomato Fruit Extract and Squalane, it nourishes the skin both morning and evenings. I can’t imagine my routine without Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F now. Dry oil like formula sinks in well and doesn’t roll under other skincare and/or makeup. Perfect for daytime to boost your SPF it helps protect the skin from pollution. City girls and boys should definitely look to add this powerful serum into their routines.

  1. I've been using the Ordinary's other Vitamin C cream, the 23% suspension which works really well but can't be used during the day because of its weird texture. So I'll have to try this one. xx
