Korean beauty has dominated the beauty world lately. With that came what I love most. Deeply hydrating & brightening formulas allowing the skin to truly glow. I have been inspired by Korean skincare tricks for a while now and few have dominated my bathroom shelfie.

Blossom Jeju Sheet Masks* | RPR £5.00 each

These inexpensive two-step sheet masks have been a revelation of sorts in my skincare. I have never tried sheet masks which worked the same way as Blossom Jeju have done. The perfect way to relax and nourish your skin after a busy day. All feature Camelia Oil as the first step, which is essentially a true Green Tea Seed Oil. Anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties make it perfect to use on all skin types, especially those prone to redness & sensitivity. Helps to reduce scaring so even problematic skin can see a true benefit to using Camellia Oil. It’s a brilliant moisturizer and just like green tea is known for its antioxidant properties, which results in providing you skin a superb protection from environmental factors such as air pollution, sun damage etc. Antioxidants are important in all anti-aging products, here Camellia Oil is well known for its ability to reduce wrinkling and protection from free radicals. All masks are soaked in the essence so nourishing, I use the leftover all over my upper body: from arms to chest and neck. Probably the first ever sheet masks so well cut that it fits my face perfectly. The oil part helps the absorption of all the incredible ingredients of the essence to provide a truly unique sheet mask experience. 

How to: 

First, use Camellia Japonica Seed Oil pouch and apply to the face, neck, décolletage, chest and on the arms. There’s plenty of oil to go around and I’m not one for wasting product. Open the sheet mask bit and apply the masks ensuring it’s as securely placed as possible. As I mentioned before, this mask seems to be a perfect fit for my face. Leave for 10-20 minutes. I prefer a 15-20 minute treatment, but no longer, as you want your mask to still feel wet when taking off. The lovely Karolina from Skinsider UK has shared this sheet mask trick with me. The sheet mask allows the skin to truly drink up all the hydration. However if left for too long, it’ll draw out all the moisture out of the skin. Since this little tip, all my sheet mask experience have been a lot better with more tangible results showing. 

Blossom Jeju Two-Step Sheet Masks

Pink Camellia Soombi Marine Collagen Lifting Essence Mask* is very firming and gives the intense dewiness to the skin. Enriched with too many natural fruits, nut and flower extracts to count, the essence works beautifully at deeply hydrating and almost lifting the face contours. Great for upper body (arms, tummy, and boobs) if you want that lifting effect there too. With Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, Betaine and Hydrolyzed Collagen high up on ingredients list, you’re truly getting all the hydration the skin needs. Red Camellia Soombi Soy+ Nourishing Essence Petal Mask* deeply nurtures and nourishes the skin with soy, sage and many more extracts. Another one for the books, this one can be used after a stressful day at work, when you need to treat your skin before it becomes problematic. What dehydration, you may ask yourself if used this regularly. As before all the hydrating factors are here and the essence feels ultra moisturizing and caring. It’s soothing and almost spa-like facial. Great after a strong AHA or deep cleanse muds, it’ll replace moisture but won’t decongest. Buy here.

White Camellia Soombi Vitamin+ Brightening Essence Petal Mask* is enriched with vitamin E and pearl extract known for their Illuminating and brightening properties. It does that well too. 15-minute moisturizing facial allows the skin to repair whilst licorice, peonies and pearl soothe the skin as well as repair the bonds within skin cells. My complexion seems lifted, uneven tones reduced. It’ll help with hyperpigmentation, lighten dark spots and help the general condition. You’ll want to walk around foundation free, it gives such healthy glow. I’m all for brightening and glow, so this quickly became a favourite of mine! Buy here.

Skinfood Black Sugar | RPR £13.00-£16.00

Now widely available in Boots or on Amazon, Skinfood has taken over my daily routine. Enriched with Black Sugar Extract, the skin care benefits are real, as it removes old keratin, moisturizes and nourishes the skin. Plus if you’re into sweet-scented skin products, you’ll love it. It’s such a lovely experience to use! Well priced, it sits firmly in medium range spot. I really enjoy using it, especially the Cleansing Cream, which I can see myself repurchasing over and over again. Whilst I’ve received the cleanser, I loved it so much, I knew I want to try more and bought the mask a couple of weeks later. A true statement to how much I adore the range.  

Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream* | £16.00 | POST

Rich in Black Sugar Extract, refined rice wine, and multi-fruit complex. Perfect as first cleanse, as the ultra delicate formula removes all makeup quickly and gently. Even eye makeup seems to disappear without any stinging or clouding. Also great as a second cleanse in the evening or an overall morning cleanses, the light and runny formula make for the perfect massaging cleanser. I love gently massaging my skin, I find it helps it to absorb skin care better afterward but also provides the skin with a necessary step to allow better collagen production. Scented like a dream, it’s a true pleasure to use. Active ingredients work together to deeply cleanse and exfoliate to reveal moisturized and glowing complexion. Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Wash-Off Mask | £13.00

My second love is this honey, thick and sticky formula. If you suffer from dry skin or dehydration, you should really try it. It’s also suitable for problematic skin and it doesn’t inflame area around my chin which is my skin’s biggest pet peeve. It’s a skin softening and moisturizing gem and I love using it at least once weekly. It deeply nourishes and repairs, as the honey extract is known too. You may forget about any dry and rough areas, as it’ll get rid of them quickly and easily, with first results showing almost instantly! It’s a joy to use as well, as the black sugar sent is joined by honey and provides a truly spa-like experience. A little tip is to mix the mask before the first use. I used a baking stick and gave it a proper whirl. The sticky formula allows the skin to truly absorb all the ingredients and help retain moisture. I apply it on cleansed and toned skin and allow to work for 15-30 minutes depending on how busy I am. It won’t strip your skin of moisture, exfoliates and deeply moisturizes. Definite yes from me.

Caolion pore tightening skincare

When Caolion finally launched in the UK and in Boots I rejoiced. If you struggle with enlarged pores around your t-zone, Caolion duo packs are an incredible way to try the product in travel-friendly 2x50ml packaging, but also provide a full skincare regime in only two duo products! The formulas are inspired and most importantly work well. Not the cheapest, they sit firmly at the higher end of medium price point. 

Caolion Pore tightening hot & cool foam cleansing duo* | £20.00 | POST

My favourite duo for those days when my skin feels congested, slightly oily with enlarged pores. I apply the hot cleanser in the evenings. The heat opens up the pores and allows for a deep cleanse without irritation whilst brown sugar, sulfur and konjac root purify and remove dead skin cells. The skin is so soft after this one simple step and it takes minute tops! I use the cooling cleanser in the morning. The cooling sensation not only works great at waking me up but also allows the pores to tighten. Sea salt, eucommia bark and kaolin clay soothe, calms, de-puffs, and firms the skin. It’s such a clever little product and when used regularly, you’ll see a massive difference in your skin texture, congestion and pore visibility.

Caolion pore tightening day and night glowing duo | £30.00

I was so impressed with the cleanser that I just had to try more and the Pore Tightening Day & Night Glowing Duo jumped into my basket when casually wandering around Boots. Anything that promises glow and I’m sold. The morning bouncy moisturizer is gel-like and ultralight. It’s also a little cooling and minty in scent, which makes pairing it with the cleanser such a great morning experience. Enriched with many floral & fruit extracts as well as the anti-pollution antioxidant Niacinamide, Macadamia, Sweet Almond and Cannabis oils, it moisturizes the skin without leaving it almost too nourished. It’s a perfect daily moisturizer, as it the cooling sensation awakens the skin and ultra-light formula provides hydration and add a little luminosity to the complexion. Overnight pore tightening sleeping mask also features the cooling effect which again is lovely used after the warming cleanser. Bounce gel-like formula visibly lifts and firms the skin, while natural extracts work at tightening pores and delivering the glowing results overnight. Personally, it’s not enough for me in terms of hydration but I love using it after Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Both deliver on luminosity and help keep my skin clear and smooth.
