THE MAKEUP EDIT #2

The makeup edit

Happy Hump Day everyone! As we near the end of the week, when’s better time to treat yourself to a little makeup haul! I’ve tested some new bits recently as well as rediscovered some other goodies & thought it’s time to share them with the world. Ready?

Primark PS... Lunar Glow swatches

Primark PS... Lunar Glow is a stunning ‘dupe’ for Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit. Whilst I am yet to treat myself to any ABH strobing palette, I love the stunning glow you can get out of Lunar Glow. The four shades vary from iridescent topper to full on highlight but all will look stunning topping up any winter look. Spectrum is a beautiful lilac with blue iridescence, Backlight is almost white yet has some silver/blue in it, Opaline is gorgeous light gold with green sheen and Chroma is a stunning topper with lots of pink and little blue sheen. If you’re pale and look to experiment with different tones, this £5 palette has everything you need. It’ll look beautiful on all skin-tones as the formula isn’t too opaque, instead giving you more topper-like highlighter look. Use alone, mix together or use on top of more traditional shade for unlimited looks!

touchinSOL Look Like Honey Moon

I’ve been loving the touchinSOL Look Like Honey Moon Base Primer* lately! The unique formula feels almost like runny honey! It’s really moisturising but also great at laying the ‘sticky foundation’ for your base product. I find primers that sink in and dry little sticky to be great at grounding foundation and ensuring longevity. I’ve used it with various foundations and I’m yet to find one that doesn’t work with it. It’s been great under my more demanding bases from The Ordinary. Must try it with Fenty next! The packaging is ace, heavy glass bottle feels luxurious while design reminds me of sunny summer days. touchinSOL had a massive launch in UK this year and they’re now available through Cult Beauty, ASOS and stationary top London locations! There’s plenty on my list to try from the brand next.

I’m so happy to have discovered the Brushworks Multi Tasking Brush*. This inexpensive brand offers quality brushes at a friction of the price. Here synthetic bristles are super soft and the almost doom shape allows for precise application! It does not shed and washes out nicely. The bristles dry very quickly too, which is a huge factor for me! It’s a multitasker for sure and can be used with powder and liquids but you know how I rarely stray from a beauty blender, so I’ve been using it for my bronzer/contour needs!

High coverage and glowing finish foundation

LA Girl PRO.Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Liquid Foundation in Fair gives me everything I want from the base! It’s high coverage but ultra light and gives the most glowing finish! I’m always pittle sad having to powder it down. I’ve been testing it alongside touchinSOL primer to see if it gives it more staying power without having to set it and I think it does ever so slightly. I found that I’m less shiny than usual in T-Zone after 6 hours. I’m still to crack it, hut powder is sadly necessary for me in the t-zone. As I use powder bronzer/blush/highlight formulas I tend to just set the whole thing! I get some of the glow back, but it’s not that wet skin finish this foundation is capable of. The shade is quite dark and lightening is a must for me (I use the White Lightener shade from the same series), but I really love this base, its finish and the ease of application so it’s forever on the top 5 list.

Bronze up

Max Factor Creme Bronzer in Bronze* is the lighter of the duo released by the brand. So soft to touch, it picks up well on the brush, so light hand is needed. If you’re fairly pale but looking to add a little colour to your face, this satin finish bronzer will surely make you look radiant! I use it above the contour and all over a little a everyday, to give myself some colour! It’s warm but not orange with its golden tones. It's part of an incredible limited edition box Greatest Showman by Latest in Beauty - POST - it offers great value and is still available*, so go go go! I’ve been really into it lately and there’s a dent (I stabbed it with a nail) to prove it!

I cannot have a post where I recommend a highlighter and not the brush I’ve been obsessed with recently. Spectrum Small Fan Brush* is so fluffy and soft! It picks up product so well yet gives that barely there blended look! I've been using small and fluffy fan brushes exclusively for my highlighter needs since my very well loved purchase of Morphe 310 Fan Brush - POST - and my new Spectrum brush allows me to wash my brushes little less!

  1. I love the sound of the primer, although my skin leans more towards oily in Winter gets dehydrated constantly and I like using hydrating primers to help my foundations look better. x
