PORELESS, FULL COVERAGE DEWY BASE FOR LESS

Revolution Pro: achieving poreless, full coverage dewy base for less

You know my love for Makeup Revolution, so when Revolution Pro launched, I was the first to drop some ££ on all the newness! I found many new faves including a brand new primer and a foundation! This might be the first time in forever I’ve not used fancy high-end foundation/primer duo and not noticed a difference. If you’re into medium-full coverage, glowing finish that doesn’t set in pores and rather not spend hundreds on your base, please read on.

I’m very picky about my primers lately. I’ll be hitting 33 years young in less than 2 months so pores slowly start to become an issue. I’m always on a lookout for pore refining formulas and Revolution Pro Blur Stick (RPR £10) hits all the boxes. This is my first ever stick formula of primer & got to be honest - it weirdly works! Most pore refining primers must be applied by patting the product in to ‘fill in’ the pores so Blur Stick makes the application process a little easier and less messy. Apply it directly from the stick & watch your pores disappear - magic! Foundation goes on beautifully afterwards and seems to look better for longer during the day. My personal hero in terms to pore refining primers is Benefit Porefessional Pearl Primer but for £10 colour me impressed! Available from Revolution Beauty & Superdrug online & in-store.

Budget stick foundation primer

Finding a drugstore foundation that works as well as high end and comes in my shade is pretty impossible on the high street, so when Revolution Pro Foundation Drops launched, I knew I’ll be grabbing a bottle. I’m very cliche and apply drops directly to my cheeks and forehead Instagram-style but what it means are mess-free hands on top of simply looking too cool for school lol! 3 drops are plenty to cover my whole face and I find both a dense brush and dampened sponge work great. I personally prefer sponge better if I’m using Blur Stick first as I find buffing process moves products too much, therefore, diminishing the blurring effect. The shade F1 is stunning and matches me perfectly and the creamy formula covers everything and offers the most lovely dewy finish! I’m always sad to set it with powder afterwards! Foundation Drops last well throughout the day and you know by how long I have to wear a foundation every day. Perfect for dry to combination-dry types, but I’m unsure how oily skin would react to it given the initial dewiness. All in all, I’m completely sold. I love the packaging, I love the pipette applicator & most importantly I adore the formula. Revolution Pro Foundation Drops officially became one high street foundation to match the quality of high-end ones and at £7 you really can’t go wrong. Available from Revolution Beauty & Superdrug now.

Lastly few words on Revolution Pro Full Cover Camouflage Concealer (RPR £5 available from Revolution Beauty & Superdrug), perhaps one product I appreciate but don’t use often. You can really layer it with Full Cover Camouflage Concealer in C1 as due to its slightly sticky formula it covers fabulously and applies well. Perfect to cover spots and discolouration! Sadly I don’t like it under my eyes. I find it too sticky and heavy, which instantly settles in fine lines whatever I do. I’ve used it with a couple of powders which haven’t changed my opinion. Having said that, if you’re younger with fewer lines this would probably work well for you! I don’t use it enough to fully review it, but I’m planning on comparing it to Make Up For Ever Full Cover concealer soon, so watch this space. All in all, if you’re after a full coverage concealer to cover tattoos, discolouration and spots, I think Full Cover Camouflage Concealer may be the one for you even if sadly it hasn’t hit all the boxes for me for under the eyes!
